ELDRED TOWNSHIP — A state trooper in Monroe County is back to work.

The district attorney’s office says an assault charge against Mark Michael was withdrawn by his wife.

Michael was suspended without pay from his job at the Fern Ridge station after court papers indicated he assaulted his wife last month at their home near Kunkletown.

Let me get this straight, we charge people with crimes against others even when others want the charges dropped because the DA is the one who presses the charges not the victim. But when it comes to a state trooper.. ohhhhhh.. totallydiffrent.

The wife may have played it smart. Drop charges and file for divorce shortly after. This way she gets more of his and the states money/pension.

  • CLEAN UP THE STREETS instead of tickets to hard working PEOPLE!
