WEST PITTSTON -- The 43rd Cherry Blossom Festival in West Pittston kicked off Saturday with a parade that ended along the Susquehanna River.
There's plenty of food to taste and games to play.
People who've been joining in the fun all their lives said it's a great way to foster community.
"I don't know, it kind of brings the town together, I mean the trees are beautiful and just shows everyone what our town's about," said Brittani Shearer of West Pittston.
Contestants for Little Miss Cherry Blossom took the stage. There's all sorts of entertainment slated for the rest of the festival as well.
The festival runs through Sunday in West Pittston.
