MOOSIC — A bridge project in Lackawanna County is scheduled to begin later this week.
The work was supposed to begin Monday on the bridge that carries Birney Avenue over Spring Brook in Moosic, but was pushed back to Thursday.
The bridge is scheduled to be down to one lane.
People in Moosic say this work is a big deal because the bridge is along a detour route for another bridge project on Main Street in the borough.
The Main Street bridge in Moosic has been closed for three years.
