Saturday was the first day of trout season and folks hoped to catch a few fish in Luzerne County and Lackawanna Counties.
Thousands of anglers went out Saturday morning and afternoon to cast their lines with the hopes of catching some fish.
People at the Francis Walter Dam said it was a great day to be outside.
They said that trout season is something they look forward to all winter because it means spring is finally here.
"Beautiful. Not much fish to catch but it was a beautiful day," said a couple of people enjoying the day.
The trout season kicked off on Saturday morning.
Folks were also fishing for trout in Lackawanna County.
Anglers of all ages went to Lackawanna State Park Saturday afternoon and were excited to catch some fish.
Anyone with a fishing license can head out 24 hours a day until the season comes to an end on Labor Day.
