WILKES-BARRE -- The freezing weather didn't keep people away from the annual Saint Patrick's parade in Wilkes-Barre, Sunday.

The bagpipers played through the Diamond City. Lots of people lined South Main Street to watch all the groups in the parade.

Even Tux, the mascot for the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, was Irish for the day.

There were string bands, and high school marching bands.
Many parents brought their children out for the festivities. Everyone was bundled up to take in the sights and sounds.

Parade lover, Shaianne Caffery said, "I like coming to the parade because it brings so much fun to people's lives, and it brings laughter and joy."

Saint Patrick's Day is Monday, March 17, but our area will be celebrating with parades well into next weekend.

Girardville will be hosting their parade on Saturday, March 22.
Stroudsburg and Allentown will be going green on Sunday, March 23.
