EAST STROUDSBURG — There is some national recognition for a local college radio station.

The East Stroudsburg University radio station, WESS 90.3, is a winner of an MTV Woodie award given to the best college radio stations in 2014.

The Woodie awards have been around for 10 years and recognize music’s best as voted by college students.

“I honestly don’t have to words to explain how it feels right now. It still feels unreal but every time that I walk into this station, it just comes back to life again, that whole feeling that we actually won and we did it,” said ESU senior and station manager Jill Monica.

You can catch the Woodie Awards special this Sunday at 8 p.m. on MTV.
