PIATT TOWNSHIP --- Fire crews spent hours on the scene of a deadly crash in Lycoming County.

Fire officials told Newswatch 16 one person is dead and six others were hurt in a three-vehicle crash.

According to Montoursville State Police, Milton Boob, 80, was killed in the crash. He was the wrong way driver in the crash.

Officials said that Boob's wife, Ester Boob, 77, was injured in the crash. Her injuries are unknown at this time.

Police said the SUV driven by Boob was heading south in the northbound lanes and collided with two other SUVs.

The deadly wreck happened in the northbound lanes of Route 220 just outside of Jersey Shore around 8:30 p.m Friday.

Route 220 was closed in both directions for several hours while rescue crews worked at the scene.

Two helicopters were brought to the scene to rescue the injured.

The cause of the deadly crash is still under investigation.

Paul Garrett, the Public Relations Officer for the Independent Hose Company in Jersey Shore provided several photographs of the scene of the deadly crash to Newswatch 16.
