New York Yankees captain Derek Jeter announced that this upcoming major league baseball season will be his last.
Jeter has made a few trips to Lackawanna County to play ball, most recently as a member of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in 2013 during his injury rehab.
Before the captain was part of the home team, he visited the former Lackawanna County stadium as a Columbus Clipper.
Back in 1995 the Triple-A All-Star game was held at the ball park in Moosic, and Jim Coles interviewed the future hall-of-famer before most people even knew the name Derek Jeter.
