Newswatch 16's Ryan Leckey looks at why today is America's biggest sickout.

It wasn't much of a game, but millions watched anyway as the Seahawks smoked the Broncos in Super Bowl 48.

Peyton Manning and the Broncos were losing 36 to nothing when they finally scored a touchdown in the 3rd quarter.

The AFC champs were totally dominated by the Seahawks on both offense and defense. Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson threw two touchdowns and Marshawn Lynch ran for another.

The final score? Seattle 43, Denver 8.

Some people might have enjoyed the game a bit more than others, which as Newswatch 16's Ryan Leckey reports, could have lead to a case of Super Bowl flu.

If you're looking around the office today or noticed something different at your favorite business thinking, 'ah, where is everybody?' you're not alone! Today is billed America's biggest sickout! All after america's biggest football game!

Many refer to all of the call offs today as Super Bowl flu! The symptoms include feeling hungover, sudden diziness and craving more of those party foods. More than one million football fanatics are expected to be sidelined from work today. That's according to a workplace management consulting firm. Researchers say these statistics aren't easy to track because most employers avoid the subject.

Not only are 1.5 million people expected to be under the weather today, but 4.4 million might just be late for work. Overall, this study done after past Super Bowls concluded that even those who went to office today could end up costing their employers hundreds in productivity after too much partying.

The benefit to businesses everywhere is that the Super Bowl-itis usually only lasts a day. The pros say the quickest comeback from all of that food and booze- plenty of liquids, and exercise.
