WILLIAMSPORT -- Philadelphia Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg was the special guest speaker for the 8th annual Williamsport Crosscutters Hot Stove Dinner on Monday night at the Genetti Hotel in Williamsport.

Sandberg, a 2005 inductee into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, was originally selected by the Phillies in the 20th round of the 1978 draft. He made his Major League debut with the Phillies in 1981. He was traded to the Cubs following the 1981 season, spending 15 years in Chicago.

Sandberg won the 1984 NL MVP Award, was a 10-time All-Star, won 9 Gold Gloves and 7 Silver Slugger Awards. Sandberg finished with 277 Home runs as a 2nd baseman.
