SCOTT TOWNSHIP -- Liquor stores throughout our area saw a last-minute rush today as people were picking up what many consider a New Year's Eve essential.
The Wine and Spirits store along Route 11 near Bloomsburg was packed most of the day with people buying drinks for their parties.
Of course, one of the busiest aisles was for the sparkling drinks for that midnight toast.
Holiday cheer was definitely on the shopping list.
“It's a challenge for the women. We know what the guys will drink, but you have to come up with a cool drink for women, so we thought of an apple martini,” said Joann Paige of Bloomsburg.
Most liquor stores are open a couple more hours, but some close a little earlier than normal.
