SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP -- State police need help trying to catch some thieves who broke into seven businesses in the Stroudsburg area.
Troopers believe all seven burglaries are related. They all happened late Monday night and all are located within a one-mile stretch.
Business owners say they work too hard and have had enough.
In security video, you can see what appears to be two men breaking into a hair salon near East Stroudsburg and one making off with the business's cash register, according to investigators.
Then the getaway car drives past the video camera.
"I thought, 'Not again, this just has to stop.'"
Lynn Thomas is the property manager of the Divas II hair salon. She says this is the third break-in there.
Although police aren't sure the others are related, Lynn is getting fed up.
"We all work hard. It's just not right."
At the hair studio, shards of glass and a big rock indicate where police believe the burglars broke in. And inside the salon, a piece of plywood is covering the smashed door and a garbage can is filled with the rest of the shattered glass.
But the thieves didn't stop there. They also targeted Kevin's Hog Heaven Restaurant nearby.
"The window smashed in, a rock laying inside, and our register and change laying all over the floor," explained Andrew Hagerstor.
Police believe the thieves continued their break-in spree over to a strip mall close by. There the same thing could be seen: glass doors smashed and people picking up the pieces.
"Just leave us alone, it's costing us an arm and a leg," Hagerstor said.
Police say a total of seven businesses were broken into right before midnight Monday.
Only cash and cash registers were taken.
