UPDATE:  August Stile, was sentenced to 46 months in prison Friday August 15, 2014 for fraud, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

SCRANTON — A businessman who had his office in Lackawanna County pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to cheating investors out of $310,000.

August Stile, 49, of Hughestown admits he conned people into thinking they would get a big return on their investments when he actually used the money for himself.

He was indicted on the charges in April.

    People who commit fraud like this are just the lowest form of life.This guy should get a longer sentence for this.Why does it seem that when someone makes money on others the courts appear to be light on sentences.Does he have to pay back or will he be wealthier when he gets out like Martha Stewart?
