STATE COLLEGE — Penn State University employees who get benefits and participate in a wellness program will now receive a cash reward.
The university says workers who take part in the school’s Take Care of Your Health initiative will receive $100.
If their spouses participate they’ll get $150.
Some of the requirements include biometric screening and a physical exam.
Earlier this year, the university announced that if employees chose not to fulfill the steps, they would be penalized $100 a month. That policy was suspended last month.
Penn State officials say the cash reward is a way to recognize people’s efforts who participate in the program.
