JERMYN -- Service men and service women in our area enjoyed a special celebration in their honor on Sunday.

The welcome home party and community thank you was held at Mountain Sky Recreation area in Jermyn.

There was live entertainment, food, raffles, a bake sale and more.

The event was organized by the family of three soldiers who recently returned from duty.

"My two stepsons and my nephew just got back from Kuwait. They were overseas for a year, and we wanted to have a welcome home party for them, so we decided instead of just the three of them, we would throw it for all of the troops that just got home," said Rebecca Sibio, an organizer.

Money raised at the welcome home party will be donated to Friends of the Fallen, a group that helps military families who have lost a loved one in the service.
