LATHROP TOWNSHIP -- Fire destroyed a home in Susquehanna County Sunday afternoon.

Crews were called to the place in Lathrop Township around 4 p.m. The home is along State Route 2002, about a mile outside Hop Bottom.

Pictures and video sent to Newswatch 16 showed intense flames and smoke coming from the home. The Hope Bottom fire chief says heat from the fire caused propane tanks on the back porch to explode.

Crews say the woman who lived in the house made it out safely.

There's no word on what started the fire in Susquehanna County, but fire officials do not consider it suspicious.
