Charges Pending After Police Chase

SAINT CLAIR — State police say they’re prepared to serve an arrest warrant on the man accused of an assault and police chase in Schuylkill County earlier this week.

According to investigators, John Pino, 69, of Shenandoah backed into at least one police car and nearly hit a trooper during the chase Monday Afternoon in the Saint Clair area.

An officer shot Pino as he tried to get away.

Pino remains hospitalized in serious condition.

State police say they plan to charge him once he’s released from the hospital.

Pino faces numerous charges including aggravated assault, fleeing and eluding, recklessly endangering another person and related charges
