SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT -- Every year, thousands of people visit the Little League World Series in South Williamsport.

And every year, quite a few residents convert their yards into parking lots.

From the first pitch to the very last out at the Little League World Series, fans travel from all over to the complex in South Williamsport.

All those fans need somewhere to park. Lester Loaner of Williamsport knows the area well enough to find a spot where he doesn't have to pay a penny.

"I drive up and down each of the roads looking for a spot," said Loaner. "I look for the closest spot that I don't have to pay any money."

"The crowds over there are incredible. This just gives people another place to park," said Thomas Bartholomew whose family charges five bucks a pop to park.

All in an effort to make coming to the Little League World Series a little more convenient.

"Easy in, easy out. We didn't feel like taking the shuttle so we figured right up the road here, the stadium," said Bill Hines of Allentown who parked in Bartholomew's yard.

By late afternoon there's hardly a spot to park on the Southside streets and so the mail arrives hours earlier in the morning.

"Just get out here and everybody gets parked in done a little earlier high traffic areas, just get out-of-the-way," said Gregg Flynn who has been delivering mail in the area for more than two decades.

Flynn sums up the situation on the streets during the biggest show in town.

"There's nowhere to park. On the streets, you're just out of luck."
