School is right around the corner and that means kids and their parents are starting to prepare for not only another year of learning, but a healthy one too.
Geisinger’s Clinical Nutrition Department in Wilkes-Barre now offers weight management classes for children who are overweight and are at risk for many serious health problems.
The classes are available for children ages 8 to 10 and their parents at the Geisinger–Kistler Clinic in Luzerne County.
The classes will begin at 4:15 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month, beginning Tuesday, August 20th and are facilitated by Kristen Mannix, R.D., L.D.N., who specializes in pediatric nutrition.
For more information about joining a class, you can call 570-829-2621.
