STROUDSBURG -- If you've visited the Stroudsburg area, chances are you've seen "The Dancing Guy."

He's a 23 year old who loves to dance and make people smile.

Now, he's getting his shot on the big stage at the Sherman Theater in downtown Stroudsburg Saturday night.

He can be seen busting a move throughout the Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg areas.

He's known around town as "The Dancing Guy" because, well, he's always spotted dancing.

The reason? "Just to make entertainment," said Dequan Waters-Smith, "The Dancing Guy."

And it's as simple as that.

Waters-Smith of East Stroudsburg grew up in the area and says a typical day of dancing includes him putting his earphones in, putting on pop music and dancing throughout the Stroudsburg area.

"Sometimes I stay in one place. Once in a while I bounce around," said Waters-Smith.

And wherever he's performing, some type of audience is always cheering him on.

"People have come up to me, and one time, I was asked for an autograph, and other times, I've been offered jobs related to dancing," said Waters-Smith.

One person who came up to him is Colette Logan.

She's promoting a show at the Sherman Theater called "The Michael Jackson Tribute" and saw potential in Dequan.

"He's awesome. I've always seen him, blown my horn at him. When we put this project together, I stopped, pulled over and spoke to him. I loved his spirit. I asked if he wanted to be a part of it and he was so excited," said Colette Logan.

Dequan says he started dancing soon after Michael Jackson died, and now will be taking his dancing skills to the stage to play the part of Michael Jackson.

"I'm going to be opening up the performance, and I'm going to be playing as the young Michael from the late Seventies, from "Off the Wall," said Waters-Smith.

Dequan will be performing next to a professional Michael Jackson impersonator, along with several other performers during the Saturday night show.

His message to everyone out there coming to the show? "Just be yourself," said Waters-Smith.

The Michael Jackson Tribute concert will be at the Sherman Theater in downtown Stroudsburg on Saturday night.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the show starts at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets are $24.95.
