City Faces Spike In Cell Phone Thefts

WILKES-BARRE — Police in Wilkes-Barre are issuing a warning to the public after a rash of recent cell phone thefts in the city.

Officers say since Tuesday night there have been four incidents of cell phone thefts.

In one instance, a victim was allegedly assaulted by a group of men. That victim got away with minor injuries.

Police are still investigating the thefts, but want to remind people not to confront thieves if targeted.

Officers are reviewing city surveillance video for evidence.
