Investigators have announced that no criminal charges will be filed in the death of a man from Lackawanna County hit by a car in Pittsburgh.

Cody Barrasse, 22, of Moosic was hit and killed in April.

The Allegheny County District Attorney’s office released the following statement:

“The Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, working in conjunction with City of Pittsburgh homicide detectives, has completed a thorough review of the events surrounding the death of 22-year-old Cody Barrasse of Moosic in Lackawanna County. Barrasse died after he was struck by a vehicle on Bates Street in Oakland in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 6, 2013.

“Following an extensive review of the evidence, which included video of the accident from cameras in the vicinity, and interviews with all the individuals involved, our office has concluded at this time that the circumstances do not merit criminal charges against anyone who was present at the time of the accident. As is customary when the victim resides in another jurisdiction and a request is made, our office will share our investigative file with law enforcement in that jurisdiction. In this case, information was shared with the District Attorney of Lackawanna County.
