MINERSVILLE-- It was a loss that broke hearts across Schuylkill County.
The Palm Sunday car crash that killed three-year-old Catrina Williams and six-year-old Carianna Kroh. The collision happened as the girls and their mom were leaving church.
Catrina's father, Eddie Williams, wanted to create a memorial to the girls. Their favorite spot was the swimming pool in Minersville, someplace their brother says they just couldn't get enough of.
Cameron Williams says, "They loved it, like, everyday they could come here."
When Eddie learned the borough wanted to build a poolside pavilion for birthday parties but didn't have the money, he realized how to pay tribute to the girls.
The community started raising funds at benefits including a pink ribbon-themed event in Llewellyn back in April.
On Saturday, just two months and a day after the wreck, a release of pink balloons celebrated the dedication of the new pavilion for the girls.
There is a sign with their names, brightly painted picnic tables, and plenty of Catrina and Carianna's favorite colors, pink and purple.
Catrina used to tell her dad pink makes her princess of the world.
For the Williams family, there is now pride to soothe the pain.
"Looking at it at the pavilion, I'm the most proudest parent parent I can imagine to be right now. It's just wonderful to see what this did and how much of the community came together."
The new pavilion will shelter children just like Carianna and Catrina for years.
They will see the names painted in pink and purple up against a blue sky.
