HAZLE TOWNSHIP — The governor announced some big economic news Wednesday that will affect Luzerne County and the surrounding area.
American Eagle Outfitters plans to build a $160 million distribution center that will create more than 360 full-time jobs and an extra 600 part-time jobs during peak seasons.
“Supporting Pennsylvania business and giving them the tools they need to succeed in creating new job opportunities is a priority of my administration,” Governor Tom Corbett said, “Because of that support and partnership, American Eagle Outfitters is injecting a big boost into the Northeast Pennsylvania economy.”
The one million square foot building is expected to be constructed in the Humboldt Industrial Park in Hazle Township.
American Eagle Outfitters is a company that sells clothing and operates under the brands of American Eagle and Aerie.
