WILKES-BARRE -- For the second day in a row, the son of a woman accused of covering up a deadly shooting in Wilkes-Barre last year testified against her at her trial. Prosecutors questioned the honesty of his testimony from yesterday.

Elijah Yussuf, 14, left the Luzerne County Courthouse after another day of tough testimony against his mother.

On Tuesday, he testified that he shot Tyler Winstead, 14, last year at his home on Hill Street in Wilkes-Barre.

Yussuf said he thought the gun was empty. He testified that he moved Winstead's body, but gave conflicting testimony about his mother's involvement in the alleged cover-up.

On the stand for the second day, he told jurors that during a break in Tuesday's testimony, his grandparents and baby brother visited him. He said that when he came back on the stand, he couldn't concentrate, that the lawyers were asking the same questions over and over, and it was confusing.

In court Wednesday, Yussuf wasn't the only one to testify against Angelina Deabreu. Some of Deabreu's friends and neighbors also took the stand, telling jurors they received text messages from Deabreu the day of the shooting that asked them to hide a gun. They testified that in those texts,  Deabreu told them her son was not involved in the shooting and it was a drive-by.

A Wilkes-Barre police detective also told jurors that after searching Deabreu's home, they found a bullet and a blood stain on the carpet that appeared to be covered in bleach.

A few other expert witnesses were called to the stand this afternoon. The prosecution is expected to call more witnesses Thursday.
