WILLIAMSPORT -- Firefighters in Williamsport doused flames at a home Tuesday.

The fire started around 5 a.m. at a home on Newberry Street in the Newberry section of Williamsport.

Firefighters said during the fire, a water main break in the same area made fighting the blaze difficult.  Fire crews said the home was heavily damaged and an investigation will be launched to determine the cause.

Authorities said the family who lives there was home at the time but made it out safely.
