LEHMAN TOWNSHIP -- According to firefighters, a car lost control on Route 29 in Luzerne County, Saturday morning.
Officials said it happened around 7:30 a.m., when the driver was headed toward Lake Silkworth, at the intersection of Trojan Road and 29 in Lehman Township, and went airborne off the road.
Police said three people were in the vehicle, Cherri Hummel, 39, of Nanticoke died, and two others were taken to the hospital.
Police believe excessive speed played a role in the crash in Luzerne County.
