Home Damaged By Fire

COAL TOWNSHIP — Fire hit a home in Northumberland County Friday morning.

It started before 9:30 a.m. in a home in the 1000 block of West Arch Street in Coal Township, near Shamokin.

The fire said he believes it started in the kitchen. Crews were able to contain the fire to the first floor.

One person lived there and was home at the time.

The chief said he believes the resident was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
