POTTSVILLE -- Hundreds of people came out Wednesday night in Schuylkill County to help raise money for the family of the two little girls killed in a car crash in March.

The fundraiser was jam-packed with activities, from silent auctions to zumba dancing.

Even a reality star, Kate Gosselin, made an appearance.

It was a packed house at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville. Full of smiles, dancing, and a good time, all to help the Place family.

Carianna Kroh, 6, and Catrina Williams, 3, were killed when the vehicle they were in with their mother Victoria Place, was hit by another vehicle on Route 61 in West Brunswick Township near Orwigsburg.

The family was just leaving church.

Kroh died later that day, while the her sister, Williams, died the next day when she was taken off life support.

Organizers who are close to the Place family said, they wanted to put together an event that will help raise money for the little girls' mother and family.

One person they contacted, was reality star Kate Gosselin.

"I wish it was a benefit of a more positive nature, doesn't everybody? It's a hard situation, as a mom, it was a no-brainer. I was absolutely happy to be here because I can't imagine that, no parent wants to. I don't want to cry, but it's hard," said Gosselin.

Gosselin is friends with one of the organizers, and came to the fundraiser to sell her books and sign autographs. All of the money raised will go to the Place family.

"It's just wonderful having her here and the community supporting this cause, and she really drew the people out also for this worthy cause," said Brenda Schuettler, the organizer.

The event also included silent auctions, raffle sales, and one of the main attractions was zumba!

"The easiest way for us to raise money, we've done it before, we just wanted to hold a regular zumba class and just donate the proceeds from the class to the family," said Renee Amos, zumba instructor.
