Name Of Pocono NASCAR Race Announced

TUNKHANNOCK TOWNSHIP — A big announcement was made Tuesday from Pocono Raceway in Monroe County.

The votes are in and the fans have decided the name of this year’s June 9 NASCAR Sprint Cup race is Party in the Poconos 400: Presented By Walmart.

Race officials at the track near Long Pond and Walmart made the announcement.

Three finalists were chosen out of almost 2,000 fan entrees.

The runners-up were Race More Live Better 400 and Pocono For The People 400.

NASCAR fans also have the chance to vote for their favorite pierogi.

You can chose between three fan submitted recipes, including hot honey buffalo wing, loaded baked potato or sweet cinnamon sugar.

The winner will be sold at concession stands the day of the race.
