WILKES-BARRE -- A woman from Kingston will spend time behind bars for the hit and run death of a man in a wheelchair.

Danielle Castrignano was sentenced to one to two years in state prison Thursday morning for the death of Corey Ryan.

Castrignano pleaded guilty in February to hitting and killing Ryan, 20, last year along South River Street in Wilkes-Barre.

She turned herself in the next day, saying she thought she hit a shopping cart.

Emotional letters from the victim's families were read at the sentencing hearing.
