WILLIAMSPORT — About 150 people were locked up, then set free in Lycoming County but not before raising lots of money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association

Newswatch 16 stopped by the M.D.A. lockup event at The Cell Block, a bar along West Third Street in Williamsport.

All day, people were put behind bars and then had to call, email, or text friends and family to get enough donations to be released.

We caught up with a little girl who will benefit from the event.

“I’m able to get a lot of money and get to be able to go to camp,” said Lauren Magyar.

The goal of today’s lockup in Williamsport was to raise $50,000 for kids living with muscular dystrophy.
