SCRANTON -- A jury was picked to hear the animal cruelty case against a University of Scranton senior.
Peter Freshour is accused of stabbing a stray cat outside his home along Taylor Avenue in August of 2012.
Freshour argues that he was justified to kill the cat because it attacked his leg and he was afraid the animal would make him sick.
Testimony in his trial begins Monday.
