DALLAS TOWNSHIP -- Burst water pipes are being blamed for a partial roof collapse at a care center in Luzerne County.

Nearly sixty residents were forced out of Back Mountain Care Center along Route 309 in Dallas Township Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters said a water pipe burst in one room.

Residents were moved to a temporary shelter at Dallas Middle School.

The Red Cross said they are assisting the residents who will need transitional housing.

The fire chief said it will take weeks to repair the damage inside the building.
