OCEAN CITY, MARYLAND — A former priest who served in a parish in Carbon County has been charged with child sexual abuse in Maryland.

Bruno Tucci, 70, of Salibury, Maryland was charged with sex crimes by Ocean City police in December. Authorities claim that Tucci sexually abused a child in a motel room in Ocean City in 1981.

Tucci was a priest in the Allentown Diocese from 1971 to 2007, and served as pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Nesquehoning.

He was removed from ministry in 2002 after other accusations of sexual abuse.

Tucci was not prosecuted in Pennsylvania because the district attorneys involved said the statute of limitations had expired.

Maryland has no statute of limitations on sexual abuse cases.
