Governor Tom Corbett plans to announce tomorrow that he is suing the NCAA over sanctions it levied against Penn State last summer.  He has scheduled a news conference for Wednesday morning in State College.

It is not clear if the focus of the lawsuit will be to overturn the NCAA sanctions, seek to have the $60 million fine PSU is paying stay in Pennsylvania or something else.

In July, the NCAA hit Penn State with unprecedented sanctions in response to the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal.  That included a 4 year ban on bowls and championships, limits on football scholarships and a $60 million fine to go to child abuse prevention. In recent weeks, Pennsylvania lawmakers have called for that fine to stay in Pennsylvania.

Newswatch 16 will have a crew in State College for the news conference Wednesday.
