OLD FORGE — Teachers in the Old Forge School District officially ended their strike on Saturday.

According to a press release, the district released a statement saying a representative said the “teachers are willing to return to work on Wednesday, January 2, 2013,”.

The district is still waiting for the Old Forge Education Association to agree to its last best offer.  That offer expires on January 4, 2013.

The teachers went on strike on Thursday, December 20th when contract issues sparked a battle between the educators and the school district.
