HAMILTON TOWNSHIP -- For those last minute shoppers out there, if you're having trouble finding the perfect gift, why not go green?

At the Monroe County Environmental Educational Center near Bartonsville, educators said green gifts are always a hit.

Some ideas, buy bird feeders and bird seed, or make your own green cleaning product stocking suffer with vinegar, baking soda and lemon juice.

People can also head to your mom and pop shops.

“Another idea is buying local products, honey, maple syrup, any of those kinds of things those are great because it supports local business,” said Karen Boyle, environmental educator.

Another idea, at the environmental center you can also sponsor a maple tree on their grounds.

When you do, you get a pint of their local maple syrup.
