The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins picked up a big win Friday night, defeating the Syracuse Crunch 5-3. The roster from the Crunch contained members from last year's Calder Cup championship team. The Norfolk Admirals were the top affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning. But, because of a switch in affiliation, the Admirals roster is now the Syracuse Crunch.

Trevor Smith netted two goals, while Beau Bennett, Brian Dumoulin, and Riley Holzapfel  also lit the lamp for the Penguins. Jeff Zatkoff saved twenty-three of twenty-six shots for the Penguins, picking up his ninth win on the season while Crunch goaltender Dustin Tokarski suffered his third loss of the year.

The Penguins are home on Saturday night against the St. John's IceCaps. Game time is 7:05.
