SHICKSHINNY -- Plow truck operators were busy Tuesday, a common sight in parts of our area.  For some it was operating the big rigs.

"Most of the roads are a little loose in spots and you come around the corner it'll be packed in pretty good. It just like sneaks up on you and a lot of the traffic is going a little to fast," said John Futoma, of Shickshinny.

Mike Schuckers uses his pickup truck to plow parking lots. He said last winter there wasn't enough snow.

"Last year it was pretty hard to make money plowing, so this year, I hope we get some pretty decent storms this summer, this winter I mean," said Schuckers, of Cambra.

Jim Bomboy said any snow is too much.

"If this is it for the year, I'm happy. This little bit here doesn't bother me and I got a snow blower when it's deeper so," said Bomboy.

A few blocks away we found Helen Ruffenach doing battle with the white stuff. Her cat, max, supervised but wasn't sure what to make of the cold snow on his paws.

"It's wet and it's heavy and so luckily it's only a few inches so it's not totally back breaking. I am working up a sweat!" said Ruffenach, of Shickshinny.

The Northwest Area School District was closed due to the snow. With classes cancelled these children used the snow to have some fun.

One thing that's on the minds of a lot of folks is how much more snow we'll get during the season. We'll we have four or five months to find out.
