SCRANTON -- A man now wants to go to trial after first admitting he gunned down someone in a Lackawanna County bar.

Investigators said Derrick Phillips shot Malik Carter at Finn McCool's on Cedar Avenue in Scranton last year.

Phillips pleaded guilty to manslaughter charges in August but withdrew his plea on Wednesday.

The shooting at Finn McCool's helped lead to a court ruling to shut down the troubled bar in Scranton's south side.
