BUTLER TOWNSHIP --  A man died in a crash on a busy highway Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

Investigators said the man killed was a passenger in the car when it crashed near Frackville in Schuylkill County.

Route 61 traffic was detoured for a good part of the afternoon because of the wreck.

Butler Township Police are investigating the crash that happened early Wednesday afternoon.

According to Butler Township Police, two people were driving in a car southbound along Route 61 near Frackville around noon when it crashed into a pile of wood in front of a home. It then hit a pickup truck parked in the front yard of the house killing Sean Harris, 23, of Ashland.

Harris was sitting in the front passenger seat.

The driver of the car, Jack Larizzio, was not hurt.

No one else was injured.

Emergency crews redirected traffic for much of the afternoon as they investigated the crash.

There were reports that a mail truck was involved in the crash, but police said it was not.
