PENN TOWNSHIP — Members of the Amish and Mennonite community were out Tuesday, helping to tear down a house that burned in Snyder County.

The home on Middlecreek Road near Selinsgrove caught fire Monday night.

Firefighters said strong winds and rain made it extremely difficult to get the fire under control.

Crews said an oil lamp started the fire.

The home is a total loss.
