WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP -- Halloween is less than two weeks away, and many people are out looking for the perfect costume.

At the Party City near Wilkes-Barre, shoppers can choose from hundreds of costumes and thousands of accessories.

Monica Hapsmith and her friend browsed the selection for their big Halloween party.

"I like the pirate costumes because that`s what I got, but we are looking at a bunch of costumes and different ones. She was looking at the Avatar ones, and I was looking at the clown ones because that`s what I got my boyfriend," said Hapsmith.

Whether it be sexy or scary, ghastly or ghoulish, employees said the popular choices come from what's on the big screen.

"I think a lot of it goes by the new releases, the movies and that kind of stuff. The superheroes and the princesses, the Disney princesses for the adults and teens, that`s pretty popular," said Nicole Sabol, an employee at Party City.

Nicole said the hot sellers also come from current events and even video games.

Some of the most popular costumes this year include Angry Birds, pirates, and president masks.
