Pete Orr hit a solo home run to give the Lehigh Valley IronPigs a 1-0 lead in the second inning on Wednesday night at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, but the surging and division leading SWB Yankees quickly responded in the home half of the second inning with two runs of their own.

Cole Garner from the 8th spot in the lineup laced a double into the left field corner scoring Francisco Cervelli from second base for the 1-1 tie.

Later in the inning Ramiro Pena knocked in the second run of the inning with a sharp single to right field past the IronPigs second baseman and the 2-1 lead for SWB. Scoring on the play Cole Garner.

With the 2-1 lead  for SWB into the top of the 6th inning that's when Lehigh Valley got the pitch they wanted and Cody Overbeck the former Williamsport Crosscutters delivered off reliever Kelvin Perez for the two run homerun deep into the night in Allentown. They lead 3-2.

Lehigh Valley added two more runs in the fifth for the 5-2 victory putting a hold on the SWB Yankees chance at winning the IL North Division title. SWB Yankees record now stands at 81-58 while Lehigh Valley moves to 74-65 on the year. They will play a single game on Thursday night at 7:05pm.

Pawtucket is scheduled to play a doubleheader with Gwinnett on Thursday beginning at 5pm. With a Pawsox loss or SWB Yankees win the Yankees clinch their 5th IL North title in the last 6 years.

Starting  SWB Yankees pitcher Mike O'Connor went 5 2/3 innings allowing 4 hits and 3 runs with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts.
