It is a new era of football in Happy Valley.

There is a new coach, new uniforms, new players and a new level of scrutiny for the Nittany Lions, following the sex abuse scandal centering around former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.

"I`m really glad to see them come back out on the field and show everyone who Penn State really is," said Jeremy Huggins of Mount Pocono, a freshman at Penn State Worthington Scranton campus.

Some Penn State students at the Lackawanna County campus said they plan to attend Saturday's game versus Ohio University. Others said they will be there in spirit, rooting on the blue and white.

"I just hope that they do really well and ... you know, the past can be put behind us, you know?" said Michelle Eckert of Scranton.

"They`re turning a new leaf, they get to start all over again and get to push out the past, start fresh," said Adam Klees of Hop Bottom.

"It`s going to be an opportunity for us to show people we will be standing strong and everything to show everyone in the community no matter what hits us, we`re still going to be Penn State," said Matt Osborne of Jermyn.

The game is scheduled to start at noon at Beaver Stadium.
