SHAMOKIN DAM -- A man was sentenced Tuesday on charges stemming from a Snyder County bank robbery in November, 2011.

William Cowell, 32 of Marysville, will serve up to 20 years in state prison. Cowell pleaded guilty in June.

According to police, Cowell held up the First National Bank on U.S. Routes 11 and 15 in Shamokin Dam on November 18, 2011.  He threatened the clerk saying he had a gun then fled with several thousand dollars.

He was later arrested in Perry County in December 2011.
