LANSFORD -- Church members in Carbon County hope a new thrift store will help pay the church's bills.

A ribbon was cut to mark the opening of the Thankful Thrift Shop in Lansford. The shop is run by the Grace Community Church, which is just across the street.

“It is a ministry of the church. It helps the church with everyday bills, also to help the community here, good low costs items to be able to help all around,” said Pastor Jeremy Benack of Grace Community Church.

Church member Vanya Graul was shopping with her daughter Stephanie.

“She really like shoes, and she likes skirts, so we're looking for those items right now. it`s amazing!” said Vanya Graul.

You can find just about anything here, from clothes to electronics. The Thankful Thrift Shop is run by volunteers.

“God always gives back to me and this is for our church, and anything I can do for my church I will,” said Laurie Lantosh of Lansford.

“I just enjoy it. I have an opportunity at the church to work with children, and I have the opportunity to teach the Sunday School. I just love it, it's something for me to do and it makes me happy,” said Ansbach.
