TROY TOWNSHIP -- July is right in the heart of summer fair season in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania and there's a huge one going on this week in the northern tier.

The Troy Fair is back for another year and this sunny week is just right for taking it in from one end of Alparon Park to the other.

"We really love agriculture and everything and, of course, the fair food. Everyone loves that," said Lindsey Horning of Troy.

Yes, there's food, rides, games and more, as well as lots of animals to see and things to do. A shark encounter has been a hit this year at the Troy Fair.

"I went up there and the guy gave me a real shark tooth. It would have been cool if it was a great white shark," said Haley Hemmerly of Camptown.

"We have the shark show, which is here everyday. It's a shark encounter. They can go down and see something like's at Busch Gardens," said Cathy Jenkins with the Troy Fair.

But the biggest catch of the day might be the Daughtry concert. Crews were busy Wednesday setting the stage for the show.

It takes crews hours to set up for the show. Daughtry is the biggest act the fair has had in a long time. It costs $50 to see the biggest show there in quite some time.

If loud music isn't your thing, then there's lots more here like the animals that 4-H kids have spent months getting ready.

And on this day: milk mania. It meant free milk for anyone and a way to say thanks to local dairy farmers. It also is meant to remind people of the true mission of this agricultural fair in Troy that runs through Saturday.
