SHAMOKIN -- A woman in Northumberland County was sentenced Tuesday on animal cruelty charges.
Angelina Coladonato, 19, of Shamokin, received two years probation, 25 hours of community service, and must pay restitution to the animal shelter Mostly Mutts.
According to court documents, Coladonato and Michael Wolfe, 20, of Shamokin, wrapped a dog in a blanket and threw it down a small embankment in January. The two then lied to police about the abuse.
The dog was found and given to Mostly Mutts. The shelter nursed the dog back to good health.
Wolfe was sentenced to 90 days house arrest and two years probation back in May.
